New Gervais has all these 90's-00's homes, the boxy, character-free kind, cheaply constructed with I imagine particle board doors and shitty linoleum on cul-de-sacs.  Old Gervais has more of the alleys and what I'd guess are 1950's homes, or maybe earlier (farm houses possibly?), with more character and yard ornamentation.  Old Gervais also follows more of a grid layout as far as the neighborhood goes.  Man, I wish to become a Gervais expert; a scholar of it.

I am glad you are giving the central willamette valley some love-salem itself may suck, but every direction around it is pretty great!
